DOUGLAS PERRETT’S “WILD THINGS”


Estás acostumbrado a verlas en pasarelas o en tus revistas de moda favoritas,
 pero ¿ Cómo se ven sin maquillaje al inicio de su carrera ? Yo diría que más
 bonitas e inocentes. La Directora de Douglas Perrett COACD publicó un libro
 llamado «Wild Things» (Criaturas Salvajes ) en la que se dio a conocer imágenes
 de Polaroid desde el 2000 hasta el 2010 de los futuros modelos
 en sus primeros castings.


You are used to see them on the runways or on your favorite glossies, but how
 do they look without makeup at the beginning of the career ? I would say prettier
 and innocent. Casting director Douglas Perrett of COACD released a book
 called «Wild Things» in which he unveiled Polaroid pictures from 2000 to 
2010 of future models at their first castings.

Vintage Sunglasses


La Obra Social del Mercado de Vegueta, aquí en Las Palmas ofrece mucho mas que 
ropa y complementos horteras entre otras muchas cosas. Normalmente me suelo pasar por allí
 una vez a la semana aproximadamente, aveces encuentras algo curioso e interesante
como esto.

Entre trastos y baratijas encontré una cesta repleta de gafas de vista y entre tantas me decidí por 
estas, de estilo italiano y con unos 50 años aproximadamente de antigüedad eran unas de las 
cualidades que desconocía totalmente cuando las vi .

Yo solo vi en ellas que eran unas gafas al mas puro estilo vintage , con un corte elegante 
y estaban bastante bien, y por supuesto no se encontraban en tan buen estado como en las imágenes, 
tuve que repararlas, cambiarle los cristales , la monturas traseras y de apoyo, así como también pulirlas. 




Obra Social of Vegueta Market, here in Las Palmas offers tacky clothes
 and accessories among many other things. I usually stop by there once a week or so,
 sometimes you can find something cool and interesting like this.

Among old things I found a basket full of sunglasses and among a lot I decided
 for this, it´s Italian style and approximately 50 years old were the qualities that I
not knew when I saw them.

I only saw in them a glasses vintage style sunglasses with elegant cut, and certainly not
 in as good condition as in the images, I had to fix, change the glass, the rear mounts and
 support, as well as polished .

TAVERNA by FOUNDation


Del 12 al 17 abril 2011, los proyectos de la FOUNDation fueron parte del
 Festival de Diseño depúblico en Milán. Esterni nos invitó a volver con un
 nuevo proyecto basado en los anteriores proyectos de la Fundación.

Han construido un bar al aire libre, de los desperdicios encontrados. Durante
el festival se sirvió sopa fresca, pan y bebidas con el fin de crear un lugar de
 encuentro que da una idea de colores en el barrio y su gente.
 "El proyecto se llama Taverna"



In April 12-17 2011, FOUNDation projects was part of the Public Design
 Festival in Milan. Esterni invited us to come back with a new project
 that built on the previous Foundation projects.
We built an open air bar, from found waste material. During the festival
 we served fresh soup, bread and drinks in order to create a meeting place
 that gives a colourful glimpse into the neighborhood and its people.

La marioneta gigante - Highly Strung



La realización de Highly Strung con la marioneta gigante de 14 metros se llevó a cabo en la noche del 28 de octubre 2011 durante el festival de Nati Frinj. El títere costó diezpersonas para funcionar y tuvo la animación (en gran parte creado por los niños en la escuela primaria local) proyecta sobre ella desde proyectores montados tanto en el suelo y en la cabecera del propio títere. Música por Stephen Oakes

The performance of Highly Strung featuring the giant 14 meter puppet took place on the night of October 28th 2011 during the Nati Frinj festival. The puppet took ten people to operate and had animation (largely created by the children at the local primary school) projected onto it from projectors mounted both on the ground and in the head of the puppet itself.












FRIEKE JANSSENS’ “SMOKING KIDS”



Impactante y polémico está siendo al parece ser esta sesión fotográfica, puede ser de alivio al saber que se trata de manipulación de fotos creadas por el fotógrafo BelgainJanssens Frieke para hacer tomar conciencia a una epidemia viral de niños que fuman."Para seguridad de los niños, no había cigarrillos reales en la sesión fotográfica. En cambio,la tiza y palos de queso fueron los complementos reales en sustitución , mientras que las velas y el incienso reprodujo las espirales de humo. "

Shocking and controversial as this series appears to be, it may serve as some kind of relief to know that these are photo munipulations created by Belgain photographer Frieke Janssens to bring awareness to a viral epidemic of children smoking.
“To assure you of the safety of the children, there were no real cigarettes on set. Instead, chalk and sticks of cheese were the prop stand ins, while candles and incense provided the wisps of smoke. ”









TEST TUBE CHANDELIER BY PANI JUREK



Diseñador polaco Jurek Pani está interesado en el diseño de objetos que
 no son sólo funcionales, sino también involucrar a los usuarios de una forma 
interactiva. Esta araña de tubo de ensayo hace justamente eso, al permitir a
 cada persona a utilizar los buques, tal como lo consideran necesario. Aquí Jurek
 sugiere que se utilice como floreros o la inserción de diferentes colores de tinte 
para crear una especie de rueda de color, pero en realidad las posibilidades son
 infinitas. La gente recoge todo tipo de cosas pequeñas, extrañas, y esto podría 
ser una gran manera de mostrar ellos.

Polish designer Pani Jurek is interested in designing objects that are not only
 functional but also engage the users in an interactive way. This test tube
 chandelier does just that by allowing each person to use the vessels as they
 see fit. Here Jurek suggests using them as vases or inserting different colors 
of dye to create some kind of color wheel, but really the possibilties are endless.
 People collect all kinds of small, weird things and this could be a great way of 
displaying them.





Luminarie De Cagna




Puede ser bastante complaciente poner un negocio familiar que duré más de 80 años. 
O lo puedes hacer como la empresa " Luminarie De Cagna " y su escenario, un 
espectáculo que nadie olvidará jamás. La empresa familiar italina, especializada 
en la luz y la iluminación, y ha mostrado su mercancía de un modo sorprendente
 durante los eventos públicos.

Empezando por el aceite y lámparas de carburo, Luminarie De Cagna luego
 cambió a la luz eléctrica, y empezó en el 2006 con las luces LEDS. Su último
 espectáculo fue durante  el festival de la luz de Gante ,Bélgica. Un evento con 30 
exhibiciones aproximadamente, incluyendo proyecciones 3D, campos de flores de 
luces y un acuario de una cabina telefónica que brilla intensamente, Luminarie 
De Cagna, con su catedral románica gigante de más de 55,000 luces LED de 
nuevo fué el inicio del espectáculo




You can get pretty complacent when running an 80-plus-year-old family business. 
Or you can make like Luminarie De Cagna and stage a show no one will ever forget.
 The Italian family business, specializing in lighting and illumination, 
has been known to show its wares in amazing ways during public events.

Starting with oil and carbide lamps, Luminarie De Cagna then switched to
 electric lights, and started 2006, LEDS. Its latest spectacle was during the
 2012 Light Festival in Ghent, Belgium. An event with about 30 exhibitions,
 including 3D projection mapping, luminous flower fields, and a glowing 
phone booth aquarium, Luminarie De Cagna, with its giant Romanesque
 cathedral of 55,000 LED lights was once again the start of the show.
